You will wake up early and begin your journey to the continent of Africa! We will be taking the ferry at Tarifa and crossing the Strait of Gibraltar to Tangier. The ferry itself should only be an hour long but a lot of time will be spent processing yourself across the border. Bring patience and a good sense of humor.

Explore the Berber-Roman city that fell to local tribes in 285 and was never retaken by Rome because it was too remote and indefensible. Although it fell from Rome, it was inhabited for another 700 years as a Latinized Christian community and then as an early Islamic settlement. Finally abandoned before the 11th century when Fes became the local seat of power.

This blue-washed city is a photographer's dream. Chefchaouen is a small mountain town known for its painted buildings and relaxed vibe. Set in the Rif Mountains, it has narrow streets, local markets, and a mix of Moroccan and Spanish influences.

Fes is most famous for its tanneries and old markets that will take you back through time.  Take a walk through the ancient quarter to explore the intricate mazes of streets lined with open markets, shops and mosques.

Of course the main attraction is the Chouara Tannery where you will watch workers working dye into leather with their feet in massive tanks.

Merzouga is where the asphalt ends and the Sahara begins - the massive Erg Chebbi dunes. Experience towering dunes, endless horizons, and adventure at every turn. Swap your bike for a camel, race down sand slopes, or view a million stars at night. This is bucket-list territory for any traveler craving a classic Moroccan Sahara experience.

Electric, chaotic, and endlessly fascinating—Marrakesh is Morocco turned up to 11. From vibrant souks, exquisite riads, and rooftop mint tea overlooking the Atlas, the energy here is contagious. The famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square pulses with energy, street performers, and food stalls. A must-see for any traveler wanting to feel Morocco’s heartbeat.

Laid-back and artsy, Asilah is a charming coastal town with whitewashed walls, colorful murals, and a mellow seaside vibe. Grab fresh seafood, watch the sunset, and let its mural-covered medina and Atlantic breeze settle the road's dust.

I encourage you to spend some extra time exploring Spain if you have the time. It is cheap to rent a car and you can drive across the entire country in a day. Add as many days as possible to do some more exploring. Although the weather is perfect in the south and in Morocco for riding, if you head north, taking a high-speed train or renting a car is highly recommended. 

However with that said, the holidays are only a few days away and most of us will be flying home to see family.
