About this trip

At only 4-6 riders plus the safety support crew, this adventure is intended to be able to adjust quickly to the changing needs and wants of the participants. Lodging, meals, routes and activities between our anchor hotels (the must-see locations) will be flexible. You will receive a full day of training on your Tenere 700 before we head over the Strait of Gibraltar into Morocco, and you will also receive training on how to do daily maintenance on your bike. Our support vehicle will be with us for added safety and security, but riders will be responsible to travel as if we didn't have any support; you will carry all the gear you need for your adventure on your motorcycle.

This is an "anchor point"  adventure with specific hotels at key "must-see" locations that are reserved, while the travel days in between are flexible.  This will truly be modeled as a "traveler" trip with all of the rewards and risks of not having every day detailed out, but with the advantages of having a safety support vehicle and experienced world travelers and professional trainers with you.

We will be on the bikes for 14 days plus 2 days for arrival and departure for a total of 16 days.

Skill Prerequisite - READ CAREFULLY

We are exploring as a team, which means that we are only as fast as the slowest rider, and emergency medical care is a very long distance away. We have traveled with many groups and have determined these skills are essential:

1.  You must be able to make a left u-turn from a stop within 20′ (6m). Failure to make a very tight u-turn will result in you running wide and finding yourself head on with traffic.

2.  You must be able to maintain a minimum speed of 30mph (48kph) on unpaved roads (dirt, gravel, sand).  We will be traveling through some remote regions and failure to keep a minimum speed means we will not reach our hotel… or any hotel… by nightfall.

The rest we can work with.  Please keep a humble attitude and recognize that Bret might make decisions for you, based solely on your riding ability, given his 27 years of training motorcyclists as a full time career.

3. You must be able to proficiently ride an unmodified Tenere 700 with luggage in traffic, on high-speed paved roads and on unpaved roads. This trip does include a full day of training before we leave as a group to become familiar with the Tenere 700 and to learn or polish your riding skills.

4. You must be able to handle high-stress environments with a positive attitude to include dense traffic, adverse weather, uncomfortable accommodations, sudden unplanned changes and unfamiliar foods.

5. You must be able to get into and out of a full squat, preferably without touching the ground. There are many squat toilets in Morocco and the concrete around the squat toilets is, to put it nicely, nasty. Locals can squat fully to do their toilet business and there are no hold bars.

Boot Requirements

Specific boots are required for this tour. Review this list to ensure you have the correct gear. If you show up without the correct boots, you may not be permitted to ride and will not receive a refund.

Please contact Bret if you have any specific questions regarding boots (ie. foot size and boot availability).

I began following Bret's YouTube channel quite a while ago, and I can confidently say it's one of the best educational resources out there for ADV riding. I’m thrilled I had the opportunity to attend his camp in person. I can't recommend it highly enough: exceptional instructors (Bret and Paul!), a supportive group of peers (no need to stress about dropping your bike a few times each hour), and, of course, cold beers after class (not included in the course) made the experience truly unforgettable!

Fantastic class. Instructors are very skilled and teach those skills well. The location was perfect. I would take the class again

I recently attended my annual (🤣) Bret Tkacs’ ADV Training Camp, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Bret’s knowledge of adventure riding is unmatched, and his teaching style is both encouraging and no-nonsense. The drills were practical, challenging, and designed to build real-world confidence on and off pavement. The camp atmosphere was welcoming and fun, with a great mix of camaraderie and serious skill-building. Combining it with the local BMW Rally was GREAT! Whether you’re a new ADV rider or looking to sharpen your technique like I do every year, this training is worth every mile and every dollar. Highly recommended!

Great information, coaching, programming, and personality. Wish I could have been able to attend the optional Sunday ride as I heard that it was a great time.

I searched a long time to find the right course for me. I was following Brett on YouTube but didn’t know he was doing Adventure training so close to my location. What a wonderful experience! Of course the training was of a great quality but I didn’t expect less, it is everything around it which made this experience so enjoyable and profitable. As we all already know, Brett is really knowledgeable but he is also easy to follow in his training and really relation oriented. He makes you feel confident, provide the right advises and he is funny. Like he says “Attitude Matters” and he always has the right one. The second instructor was Paul. What to say about him…. He is as knowledgeable as Brett, always here to help you in any ways and this Paratrooper veteran probably landed once or twice on his head to be that funny. Great Team, Great Training and a wonderful group of student (We may do some ride together in the future). ….. I’ll be back.
